Dance pad isn’t detected on my Mac

A short list of hints which can help troubleshoot the issue with detection of dance pad.

Here’s what this article covers:

Verify if the cable is placed correctly

By far the most common issue is that the cable isn't pluged with the dance mat properly. Try to insert the cable into the dance mat once again. Please make sure that the slanted part of the plug is upwards - in the same position as in the picture.

When connecting the cable to the dance mat you should feel click under your fingers. If you do, the plug is placed properly in the socket.

Other options

Try another USB port
Additionally, if you are using a USB-A to USB-C adapter or hub, try using a different one.

Try another USB cable
Your printer might use the same type of USB cable. If you do not have one, check the next option.

Try the dance mat on another computer
Check if another computer detects the dance mat. If the mat is visible on a different machine, then most likely your Mac is not providing enough power to the USB slot. Try unplugging other USB devices or check the Apple support article on that topic.
